No, 'mike', we shouldn't. We shouldn't be concerned about Arabs on planes, because that makes us look like gigantic racist pussies. Once we start worrying about people of Middle Eastern descent all the time, we start to forget about people like Timothy McVeigh, Ted Kaczynski, John Walker Lindh, the IRA, and all of the other various white male terrorists that you white males seem to conveniently forget whenever you feel like it.
Unlike you and your ilk, I'm not going to freak out and shit my pants every time I see the color brown or hear a language that I don't understand. It's not worth my time, and frankly it shouldn't be worth your time. You should be above that. Instead, you'd prefer to portray America as a bunch of pantywaisted nancy-boys who piss themselves in terror and start shouting and pointing fingers whenever something different that they don't understand comes along.
Not every Middle Eastern person is out to get us, 'mike'. We're not that important. Our economy is in the shitter, we're pouring tons of young lives into a war effort that's going nowhere, and we've managed to scare the fuck out of ourselves to the point that we can't even carry a goddamn bottle of water onto a plane.
Ignorant? Not last time I checked. I'm not the brightest guy around, but I don't bother losing my shit when a nonwhite enters my field of vision. I don't second-guess the Iranian guy reading the New Yorker next to me on the bus. I don't squeak in terror and reach for a big fuck-off gun every time I see a woman in a hijab, because - get this - people are different, and they're not all out to kill whitefolk.
My head's not up my ass, 'mike'. My head's out, keeping an eye on the world and enjoying life for what it is. If I get taken out by a psychotic redneck with an SUV, so be it.
At least I didn't waste my time being paranoid and afraid.
The only people taking America away are people like you. The ones who demand more security. The ones who want cameras everywhere just in case an Ay-rab happens to hail a taxi.
Considering that we're supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave, there sure are a whole lot of pansies who want to curtail our freedoms in the name of racism, ethnocentrism, and fear.
