OMG CHRISTIAN OPPRESSION

A suburban Chicago student has filed a federal suit claiming her school violated her civil rights by not letting her wear an anti-gay T-shirt.
Seventeen-year-old Heidi Zamecnik is a senior at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville. She wore a T-shirt to school last April that said "Be Happy, Not Gay." The shirt was in response to the National Day of Silence. It's an event where students don't speak to highlight discrimination against homosexuals.

According to the suit filed Wednesday, school administrators told her to remove the shirt.

The Arizona-based Alliance Defense Fund is representing Zamecnik.

Spokesman Gary McCaleb said the group has filed at least eight similar lawsuits. He said the organization wants to enable Christian students to express contrasting viewpoints on homosexuality.

First off, Zamecnik, you suck as a human being.

Second, your shirt's very close to hate speech, and a school's not going to condone hate speech. Sorry, but that's just schools for you. If the shirt said "Be Happy, Not Black", you'd be in the same hot water. You're wearing something that makes a not-so-thinly veiled statement about a demographic of people, and if you weren't expecting some sort of reaction, frankly.....you're an idiot.

I know that you fundie kiddos like to think that you're being these punk-as-fuck principled rebels fighting against a world of corruption and un-Christian cleanliness, but you're not. You're just being hateful, closed-minded yahoos who make mental institution patients look reasonable. You guys scream endlessly about how your way of life is being threatened and how everyone is constantly marginalizing you, yet you have had a monopoly on the United States government for the past six or seven years.

You claim that the world is forcing you to live by its unclean, immoral standards, while screeching about how everyone should live a "good Christian life"(which probably means "Women, shut up and go back to the kitchen, and only spread your legs to make babies", and "Men, go raise a barn and be back in time for supper.") and yet not holding yourselves to the same lofty standards that you demand everyone else adhere to.

It's been well-known for a while now that fundamentalists are the biggest hypocrites in existence. Unfortunately, it seems to be only well-known by a rather small, select portion of humanity. And your effect on the stupid is undeniably strong. How many "culture war" stories have been picked up by Faux News and the like? Yeah, totally isolated incidents of, say, a school asking that people be respectful to Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and whatever else by just saying "Happy Holidays" - endlessly sensationalized to make it sound like demons from hell are literally bursting forth from magma-spewing rifts in the earth and violently diving down the throats of generally well-meaning folk, possessing them with nothing but the urge to end all Christian life. END IT.

And, of course it's bullshit, just like all the other boogeymen in the closet that you weiners conjure up.

But the endless debunking of your various claims of atrocities against your dear and fluffy Jesus and God does absolutely nothing to stop you from finding something else to drag up so you can scream "HELP I'M BEING OPPRESSED" to the high heavens(and the media), in the hopes that someone will listen. No amount of Jesus silhouettes in a frying pan or outlines of the Virgin Mary sprayed in diarrhea on a dive-bar bathroom wall will keep us from looking at you dorks and rolling our eyes while secretly wishing for a mercy apocalypse.

And to be honest, I'm of the mind that if God and Jesus really do exist(and I do give God a fair shake), would they really want to be the voices for a bunch of butt-hurt bible-thumping dolts?

It is so frustrating to see how these people scream to the heavens about being 'oppressed' while supporting statements that basically deny people the basic life to live. I wish there were a way to make be treated like someone from another religion, race or sexual orientation. The looks, the smirks, the outright hateful comments people make is shameful.

Unforgiven

You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. (Matthew 5:43)

Christians aren't any more hypocritical than the rest of humanity, or are you singling them out for "special" treatment? The truth is, we Christians aren't perfect - just forgiven. We do love the sinner and not the sin. All Heidi was doing was expressing her opinion in a non-violent, peaceful way - on a T-shirt. That is her right. Jake, your words are so angry, it doesn't suggest balanced mental health. I have already prayed for you.

What a load.

Thanks for the mental health insult, by the way.

And I don't need the prayers or the pity of someone who would take up for a dimwit who wears a gay-bashing shirt. It might be non-violent, but it's sure fucking not peaceful - and if you can't see that, you've got the wool growing over your eyes, dear little Jesus-sheep.

Good luck with being forgiven while taking up for marginalizing and insulting fellow human beings.

Awesome. I'm much more a left-wing Christian, taking everything as I see it...It annoys me to no end when fundamentalist "Christians" oppress groups, and proclaim the dreaded "WWJD?"....NOT THAT!

...and then they break out the pocketbook...
