Tucker Carlson is...correct?

TUCKER CARLSON: It goes deeper than that though. The deep truth is that the elites in the Republican Party have pure contempt for the evangelicals who put their party in power. Everybody in...
CHRIS MATTHEWS: How do you know that? How do you know that?
CARLSON: Because I know them. Because I grew up with them. Because I live with them. They live on my street. Because I live in Washington, and I know that everybody in our world has contempt for the evangelicals. And the evangelicals know that, and they're beginning to learn that their own leaders sort of look askance at them and don't share their values.
MATTHEWS: So this gay marriage issue and other issues related to the gay lifestyle are simply tools to get elected?
CARLSON: That's exactly right. It's pandering to the base in the most cynical way, and the base is beginning to figure it out.

Dear Evangelicals:

Like the secretary whose boss pulls out, wipes his cock on the hotel bedsheets, kisses her deeply, and tells her she's the best and that he'll always be there for her as he puts on his pants to go home to his wife and kids, you've been fucking used.

I don't agree with Tucker Carlson on much of anything. Half of the time I'd like to wrap that little fruity bowtie around his smarmy neck and strangle the ever-living shit out of him for a couple of minutes. And here, it may seem he's stating the obvious. (SPOILER: He is.) But Carlson saying that will inevitably set off a chain of neo-conservative shrieking that would make Fay Wray's asshole pucker.

And it's about time. It's been nothing new that politicians will stoop to any level to get votes. They've done it for years, and they'll continue to do it until the end of time. Republican, Democrat, Green, Joe Lieberman For Won't Someone Please Fucking Vote For Me Party - They're all equally guilty. And with a base that's gullible enough to believe that a giant ethereal being in the sky dictates every move in their life and allows them to practice unfettered hypocrisy in His name, that's like shooting fish in a goddamn barrel. All they had to do was to say the right words, and you and your fellow barrel-assed crackers got worked up into such a religious furor that half of you probably went out, bought a mannequin, dressed it up as George Dubya, and dry-humped it while speaking in tongues.

But that's okay. You thought that it would help, and you had to have some secret way to express your unflinching adoration for false idols.

The preachers pulled their dicks out of little boys long enough to rally you old-timey, salt-of-the-earth folks against gay marriage, you all stopped calling frightened pregnant teenage rape victims whores and ranting that they were going to hell, and left your posts at abortion clinics to gather like the mindless cattle you are and nod your heads mechanically when the politicians got started on their stem-cell and abortion tirades, and, as usual, you ignored your dying elderly family members in shoddy nursing homes so that you could all rally together to "save" a brain-dead and suffering Terri Schiavo.

After all that, it's about fucking time that you faced the hard truth that you were used, just like you use everyone else in the world to promote your hateful perversion of Christianity. You run around for years, given carte blanche by a government that you think has your best interests in mind (read: GOVERNMENT that has YOUR best interests in mind?) to act like complete assholes and force your own anemic, disgusting worldview on those of us who couldn't give a fuck about your brand of salvation, and you think it's going to continue?

Please.

I highly doubt that Carlson's words will have a widespread effect on any of you. Chances are, half of you were too busy sticking alligator clips on your nipples and systematically touching them to a live car battery while watching the 700 Club. Hey, do what you like. But it's impossible to deny that there's truth to Carlson's words, and that idea alone will be the determining factor for the November election. That idea alone will possibly serve as a barometer for the political and social climate following said election, whether voters dive deeper into the neo-conservative bucket and pull out politicians from the bottom, or whether the Democrats sweep the house like so many people are predicting.

Either way: you got played.
